Banished has been released!

You can get it here on the website, or on Steam, or on as well on the Humble Store.

A lot of people have asked where I prefer you buy the game – and the truth is, it doesn’t matter. Buy what makes sense for you.

Apparently the amount of traffic to the site is making it really slow, despite my trying to be ready for it. Not ready enough. Sorry about that…

Thanks for playing, enjoy, and let me know if you have any problems and we’ll try to get them worked out!

    February 18, 2014 2:05 pm

Old news:) seriously thanks for making this game. I downloaded it about 8 hours ago and made myself late to work just to play for 30 minutes.
I am truly amazed at how polished the interface is, the game looks great and so far looks like many hours of enjoyable game play. How do you fit this much game in a 100mb zip haha.

    February 18, 2014 2:05 pm

Enjoy the money shower! You truely deserved it!

    February 18, 2014 2:06 pm

IDK if you know, Banished was “reviewed” by TotalBiscuit

    February 18, 2014 2:18 pm

Awesome news! The only cruelty of this is releasing it just *after* a long weekend. As soon as I get home from work I plan to make a bad decision and stay up until the wee hours of the morning playing this.

    February 18, 2014 2:21 pm

Fact. This game worth my money :)

    February 18, 2014 2:45 pm

Lol! Banished cheaper on Steam for me.
Everywhere it costs $19.99, So Steam price is 399 RUR

    So where is cheat? :))

    February 18, 2014 2:47 pm

Thank you!! Been looking forward to this!

    February 18, 2014 2:53 pm

Been following this game for awhile. Even (if by some weird crazy dimensional paradox) this is not something I end up giving a 15/10, I still think you deserve the money for this hard work and for keeping me interested for so long. Heh

    February 18, 2014 2:57 pm

Going to buy it after I’m done with work! Can’t wait to play it! Congrats man!

    February 18, 2014 2:58 pm

When you prepare a site for increased traffic and fail to deliver on that front, at least you know that you did something right!!!

    Yay ! Awesome! Yippy !!!!!!

    Now you can relax

    Davis Bear
    February 18, 2014 2:59 pm

Just wanted to say – thank you for your game and colossal effort. From the people to the people. :)
    Greeting’s from Latvia. :)

    February 18, 2014 3:00 pm

Congrats on finishing years of hard work to a sucessful release! I’ve been following your devlog for a long time now and it’s really great to see all your hard work pay off.

    February 18, 2014 3:00 pm

Bought, but cannot play. Getting a crash dump error when loading game up

    February 18, 2014 3:03 pm

Thank you very much, the waiting time totally worth it!

Iยดm surprised, how polished everything looks.
How is this possible with 200 MB?

Kindest regards from Munich, Germany :)

    February 18, 2014 3:03 pm

Super excited – will be playing when I get home from work tonight – can’t wait! Glad it’s finally made it to this stage! Congratulations!

    Michael Nelson
    February 18, 2014 3:08 pm

    ๐Ÿ˜€ sweet.

    February 18, 2014 3:09 pm

no, the game is 100MB (135MB installed) for each version. The seam just downloads both x32 and x64 version, hence the 200+ size.

please report the problem with a crash dump on the forums:
also, try to force the dx9 mode

it will be moddable, but the mod-kit will be realsed on the later date. Now it’s time to fix all these launch problems.

    February 18, 2014 3:09 pm

Unfortunately i’m away from home till saturday night (work trip), but i’m planning to buy it as soon as i get home.

    February 18, 2014 3:10 pm

Juste finished the tutorials, can’t wait to play the whole game… Best regards from Lyon, France.

    February 18, 2014 3:11 pm

Congratulations and well done on finally shipping. As soon as I saw the email on my phone to say it was out I lept out of bed and bought it!

    February 18, 2014 3:12 pm

bought it and looking forward to playing it!

    February 18, 2014 3:12 pm

I checked it, and steam downloads the main pkg file and both executables (for x32/x64) which makes it 142MB. However, it also downloads the directx runtimes which is 98MB, so that’s why it’s over 200MB

    February 18, 2014 3:16 pm

Bought it on steam just a few minutes ago and after playing the first tutorial I am glad to have bought it right away. It is up to my expectations, I wish other game developers would follow your path in game development. You delivered what you promised unlike most other games I bought during the last couple of years.

    February 18, 2014 3:17 pm

Purchased and playing right now. Loving it! Thanks for such a fun game.

    February 18, 2014 3:18 pm

Iยดm only impressed, how awesome the graphics are with so little use of hard drive space ^^

    February 18, 2014 3:21 pm

    Best of luck! :)

    February 18, 2014 3:22 pm

    February 18, 2014 3:30 pm

Absolutely loving the game. I hope we get to see some statistics in terms of sales for the first day/week. Would love to know how well the game is doing!

    February 18, 2014 3:34 pm

Of what little I have played of Banished, I can tell it’s going to be a superb game. Thank you for dedicating so much time to it, I hope this project proves to be extremely fruitful. Know that you’ve got plenty of support, for this project, and any others you wish to start. I’m eagerly awaiting your next devblog post, but even more so, to start digging into Banished. Thanks again for making this. Your awesome.

    February 18, 2014 3:37 pm

Hey Great release. 1 question is there a way to turn off it pausing. I play windowed mode and do work and play. If I switch windows it pauses. Can this be toggled?

    February 18, 2014 3:38 pm

Do you have any more instructions on what happens when buying from this site? I purchased it, but I have not received a place to download the game or a Steam key.

    February 18, 2014 3:39 pm

Just got it and its amazing! Really nice game! I just can’t figure out why it doesn’t go completely fullscreen leaving this black border around the screen!

    February 18, 2014 3:39 pm

    nvm got it’

    February 18, 2014 3:42 pm

I hope you will read and take some advice from it. Its not a bad game (certainly not) but they have a lot of valid points.
Hope to see a lot of support for the game. :)

    February 18, 2014 3:42 pm

I’ve had the same problem as kccircle – downloaded the 64bit version which should run on my machine, nice quick download and install, tried to run it three times, crash dump every time. I’m now waiting for the 32bit download which is taking significantly longer, to see if that works any better…

It’s good to know I’m one of the few though. All looking very good.

    February 18, 2014 3:45 pm

it seems that it’s a problem on the humble, check your SPAM folder, if it’s not there then write to the humble support

    February 18, 2014 3:45 pm

    this is great :)
I’m gonna buy this for sure, the trailers look amazing ๐Ÿ˜€
Can’t wait for the modding kit :)

    February 18, 2014 3:58 pm

Bought it as soon as I could on Steam. Thank you so much for one of the best games i have played in a long time.

Also, 12000+ players on Steam after 3 hours. Wow. Wow. Wow.

    February 18, 2014 4:00 pm

I did get my keys by requesting from Humble Bundle that they resend my keys. Hope that helps anyone else waiting on them.

    February 18, 2014 4:01 pm

Well done. I am sure you deserve a break now!

    February 18, 2014 4:04 pm

    Wilson Calabresi
    February 18, 2014 4:05 pm

Nice, bought it as soon as I got your and steam warning, making the small 4 minutes download remotely cause I dont want to spent one minute downloading when arriving home.

    Wilson Calabresi

    February 18, 2014 4:08 pm

Well I purchased it through the humble widget on this site, and my key has still not come through, despite having the receipt from paypal.

    February 18, 2014 4:13 pm

Don’t forget if you but through this website using the HumbleBundle widget you can add a tip!

    February 18, 2014 4:15 pm

    Julian Hill
    February 18, 2014 4:38 pm

Bought it on steam the minute it got releashed, downloaded it and I will play it tomorrow!
    I can’t wait.

    February 18, 2014 4:40 pm

Loving the game so far! Good luck for the first batch of bug who passed a single man Quality Service… But for me no big problem till now, seems the single man QA has done a pretty good job. the single mal dev team too, so as the single designer… Good work ansd thanks.

February 18, 2014 4:42 pm 6am EST that was awesome!

    February 18, 2014 4:44 pm

I bought the game thrue steam and have installed it, but its just 1 problem. Every time im pressing launch game, it comes up with the message: “Application steam load error 3:0000065432” help please

    February 18, 2014 4:45 pm

I, too, purchased the game through this website and have not received the key even though I have a receipt from Amazon. I hope it’s just a server overload issue :)

    February 18, 2014 4:51 pm

Same problem as others here: Bought it from the site, payed via Amazon, got confirmation, but no download link? Does it take a while to get processed?

    February 18, 2014 4:52 pm

Game works great! Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this game!

    February 18, 2014 4:53 pm

Worth every dollar, I’ve playing for six hours! I love it!

    February 18, 2014 4:56 pm

I have been waiting for a game exactly like this for a long long time. I have waited for this games release for more than six months and it is exactly what I had hoped for. Thank you so much for the work you put into this Dukus.

    February 18, 2014 5:00 pm

Luke so happy for you! Gratz!!!

    Goblin Girl
    February 18, 2014 5:02 pm

I love the game just as much as I thought I would. It sure is addictive. I predict there will be little sleep for me tonight!

    February 18, 2014 5:03 pm

Humble replyed and sent the url to download.

    February 18, 2014 5:03 pm

Woohoo! Been waiting for this game for about 4 months; cannot wait to give it a go. I’m glad your hard work these past years has finally come to fruition.

    February 18, 2014 5:09 pm

GREAT JOB! Now take a rest and enjoy people having fun with your game! ๐Ÿ˜€

    Kudos man, you deserve it.

    February 18, 2014 5:11 pm

When i open, the edge around the screen stays black. What should i do?

    February 18, 2014 5:17 pm

If people have not received their key after purchasing the game, try using Humble Bundle’s “Key Resender Tool”:

It worked for me, at least :)

    February 18, 2014 5:21 pm

just finished the tutorial I will start my first game now! I really enjoyed playing so far. There are so many good ideas in the game!

    February 18, 2014 5:21 pm

    That worked. Terrific, thanks!

    February 18, 2014 5:26 pm

Absolutely beautiful to play, even more beautiful than I hoped! Congratulations!

I bought my copy on GOG, is there any way to get a steam key?

    February 18, 2014 5:28 pm

WOW! I don’t know if this ever happened before, BUT BANISHED IS #1 ON STEAM. AND IT IS ON ITS LAUNCH DAY! I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE! MY GOD! But anyway, what is so dangerous about mines? I haven’t had one death in a mine. So, what is the danger?

    February 18, 2014 5:32 pm

Thank you so much for making this! Iยดve been playing all night and it took a lot of willpower to exit!

    February 18, 2014 5:39 pm

Dude, this game freakin rocks! I just played 6 hours straight (almost forgot to get some food ;)) and I had to force myself to stop it ๐Ÿ˜‰ Love it! No major issues so far either!

    February 18, 2014 5:46 pm

    Good job (y)
    Better than simicty 2013.

    February 18, 2014 5:48 pm

Congratulations on making it to release, and hopefully the work you put in on the dev diaries will translate into more time to do whatever you’re going to do next. Based on Steam’s data, I’m guessing that maaaaaaybe that paid off.

Also, thanks! I get to play this great game when I get home tonight!

    February 18, 2014 5:52 pm

    so far so good!
im one of those who still plays emperor rise of the midlle kingdom, guess from today, i have a game for the next few years

    Frabjous Beamish
    February 18, 2014 5:54 pm

Bought it earlier this evening (CET) and played for hours on straight, absolutely loved it! Great game and great accomplishment from one man!

    February 18, 2014 6:04 pm

Congratulations. Can’t wait to pick it up and play this weekend!

    February 18, 2014 6:07 pm

Been playing for a few hours, and I’m loving it!

From reviews so far, I get the feeling it’s going to be a very polarising game. More than I expected it to be actually, I thought it would win over people in spite of the unforgiving challenge of it all, but it seems a lot of people just don’t find being punished by a game for their mistakes entertaining :-)

For my part, I think it strikes a wonderful balance, and I thank you profusely for crafting such a wonderful game that dares to stand out from the crowd!

    February 18, 2014 6:09 pm

I’ve been following your devlog for years, mostly due to all the interesting AI write ups you did a while back (I’m fascinated by AI and hope to include it in my own projects some day), but also because of my ancient love for Settlers 2. So much happy to see this finish and come out – that’s a huge accomplishment, and by all accounts it actually succeeds in what you attempted to create. I can’t wait to get my hands on Banished and build a thriving town that can withstand the harsher elements of life :)

    February 18, 2014 6:12 pm

Great Game very good Work no Bugs seen in 5 Hours gameplay! I cant stop playing ๐Ÿ˜‰

    February 18, 2014 6:18 pm

Just downloaded from Steam about an hour ago. I am having a heck of a time controlling the cursor. I am on win7 ultimate trying to play on a 60 inch tv screen(where I do all my gaming). The cursor is not responsive on the actual button, but if I move down the menu using the mouse it highlights the item 4 things above. For example if I want to click on new, I have to move the cursor down to achievements to hightlight the new button. This I can work with on main menu, but when you go down to the ingame menu lower right hand corner, I have no way to scroll down, so none of the buttons are clickable. I am dying to play this game, so is anybody else having a cursor issue?

    February 18, 2014 6:20 pm

Waited for this soooo long it seems! Played it all evening and really, really enjoyed myself.

No bugs noticed here. All ran smoothly. Windows 8.1, Geforce 560, 8gb RAM, 1920×1200.

Thank you SO much for a great game!

    February 18, 2014 6:35 pm

I have been playing since it was available and love it. I have a village with over 100 people that is self sustaining. 1 problem I am having though is using the school I am getting some students over 20 years old and need workers. Other than that its great.

    Windows 7, Geforce gtx680, 16gb RAM, 1920×1080

    February 18, 2014 6:37 pm

The game runs perfectly (on a 4 year old PC, at that) and is a joy to play!

    Amazing work, Luke!

    Wilson Calabresi
    February 18, 2014 6:41 pm

@Tina I tough that worth mention I played with a notebook with GT640 on a 40 inch working great and on a desktop with GTX560 perfect also. But I remember a bug like this with a old game in a AMD/ATI video card that I had to change resolution to the native resolution.

    Hope it help.

    February 18, 2014 6:44 pm

Great game! Loving it, hope you make a ton of if and can keep developing it for a long time.

    February 18, 2014 6:49 pm

You can never be ready to TOP THE FREAKING STEAM CHARTS.

gj luke, roll in your well deserved money piles for a bit

    February 18, 2014 6:50 pm

Just bought the game, can’t wait to try it out!!!

    February 18, 2014 6:51 pm

Is there any way to buy this game without a credit card? Can you buy it from your mobile?

    February 18, 2014 6:58 pm

Bought the game and damn.. it is very addictive!

    February 18, 2014 7:01 pm

Simply cannot imagine there’s someone made this alone. The game is fun, but not simple. Keeping people alive already requires some arrangement, but that does not affect the peacefulness of the game. Everything is just so relaxing and satisfying, makes you wanna live in this world too.

    February 18, 2014 7:06 pm

Just bought the game… now waiting for it to download! Cant wait!

    February 18, 2014 7:06 pm

hope the release goes well and makes the project worth your while so you can bring us even more good stuff like this.

as others have said, it really is hard to believe one person made this alone on his own time and money and it definitely deserves a lot of respect that you put out a game that looks and runs so well.

with the graphics maxed out it really is a beautiful game and I think that helps with keep your interest as it is nice to just watch your city while things are happening.

    February 18, 2014 7:16 pm

Would be nice if you could implement how much % of each material on the stockpile that would be stored there, so u might have 50% of logs and 30% iron then 20% coal :) So one could maybe have dif stockpiles with dif materials if one would want that :) Just a though

    February 18, 2014 7:25 pm

Vaindieu!! 7:00hr non stop on Banished et j ai perdu 2 villages par famine et un ร  totalement รฉtรฉ dรฉtruit par le feu!!!
Ca faisait longtemps que je n’avais pas autant ri devant un jeu! Thousands Congrats to Luck.

PS: no problem in seven hours (Win8 X64).

    February 18, 2014 7:38 pm

Congrats on the release of your game. It looks like a lot of fun.

    February 18, 2014 7:39 pm

Awesome game. Bought it from Humble Store.

My people always die out beacause of 2 things:

whenever I have around ~30pop(20adults), everything goes wrong. then farm starts producing less, starvation comes in.

    February 18, 2014 7:46 pm

@Ivan don’t use farms early on use gatherer huts, they are more reliable.

as for population your populations grows faster the more houses you place, if your population outpaces your food production you will fail, but also not placing houses fast enough stops people having kids so you eventually hit a point where most people die off to old age.

it’s not a bug it’s just part of the challenge of the game.

    February 18, 2014 7:54 pm

Great to hear you finished your game!! Shame my HD just crashed so I need to install Windows first, since I’m on Linux now. Ah well, can wait another day or so :)

Another thing though, it would be great if I could buy this game with Bitcoin! Will you consider that option in the future, maybe?

Either way, great job finishing the game, bigups!!

    February 18, 2014 7:56 pm

    you did what maxis couldn’t

    February 18, 2014 8:10 pm

“Productivity is down today at Maxis as dozens of workers are found, upon approaching, hastily alt-tabbing out of a new game called Banished.”

    February 18, 2014 8:18 pm

    Congratulations and Thank You!

Go hire a tax accountant, looks like you may need one.

Even thought I don’t have windows at the moment I’m buying this game just to support a great guy like you, who stood up from the crowd of companies that are making shitty games which are very easy or you can’t play it without in game purchases.

Banished will be a great game, I hope now you can hire dozen of devs and expand your business

    February 18, 2014 9:29 pm

I figured out my cursor issue finally. Seems my machine hooked up to my big screen tv, did not like having this game run in fullscreen.. Finally was able to get the darn fullscreen mode unchecked, restarted the game, and now it works great. What a cool game.

    February 18, 2014 9:56 pm

I’ve devoured every Let’s Play video that I could find just waiting for this game. Thanks to Luke for developing the game that I have been waiting for since buying my first computer.

    Fantastic work and many Thanks.

    It’s finally out!

    February 18, 2014 10:05 pm

    Having fun so far!
I have one compliant is I’m on a laptop (m18x r2) and have the number pad that does not seem to function with the game. I can zoom out with the normal delete button but can’t zoom back in as I don’t have the regular ins key just the one on the numpad.

    February 18, 2014 10:10 pm

Well n/m on my last comment you can change keybindings….

    February 18, 2014 10:19 pm

    Thank you!

    February 18, 2014 10:20 pm

    Loving it so far!

    February 18, 2014 10:25 pm

Hey, gratz on the release. From what I ve heard so far sales are going fairly well.

I was also wondering if you have any future plans for the game? Are you planning to add some new elements in the game? Will you make small tweaks in patches? (if necessary)

I will definately post a small list on the forums about things that could be improved in the future.

That said, the general concept seems to be working well. And I m going to play some more :).

    February 18, 2014 10:40 pm

I am completely blown away! What a fantastic game you’ve made. I played the excellent tutorials and have successfully guided my own townsfolk through their first year. I know, that isn’t much playtime, but I am already compelled to pause the game just to write this bit of praise. It was so worth the wait!

You have done an incredible job. I hope you can afford to fill a swimming pool with cash and dive in, sir. Now I must get back to my townsfolk!

    February 18, 2014 10:59 pm

Thank you! The wait has been worth it. Great game.

    February 18, 2014 11:01 pm

To be honest i ran in to this game accidently while looking around at whats coming out and i must say that i am incredibly impressed so far. One person built this? This game has the potential to be massive, absolutely massive. I am really looking forward to see what comes from the modding community. In my personal opinion this game overshadows all other games of this Genre. Honestly i can’t wait to see more.

    February 18, 2014 11:09 pm

    Bought :) Love it!

    February 18, 2014 11:32 pm

Just got my copy! Been following your progress for quite a while now! now less blah blah more play time!

    February 18, 2014 11:49 pm

Thank you very much! Finally, this game is out.

    February 19, 2014 12:35 am

Absolutely one of the best city builders in a long time reminds me a bit of stronghold. Ive been following the progress of this game for a little over six months and im very impressed by your craftsmanship of this game and I cannot wait to see what follows in the future congradulations to you sir for bringing video games back.

    February 19, 2014 12:39 am

Fantastic job on this, spent half my day just waiting to get home and spent the rest of my evening deep in Banished. :)

    February 19, 2014 1:12 am

    Fuck you Luke
    I had homework
And my wife has stopped cooking???
    Fuck you!

    February 19, 2014 1:23 am

You made the featured list on Steam… congrats on a fantastic game and I hope you sell a million copies.

    February 19, 2014 1:28 am

Tried a few things here and there. Now 11 years into my 2nd attempt (My first one I had a terrible layout), and showing no signs of food production dropping, and keeping up with lumber.(Tools, clothing, etc are all fine too). Enjoying this immensely…so much that I should have gone to sleep 1.5 hours ago so I can get up for work.

    February 19, 2014 1:32 am

Dude so happy for you, great game

    Michael Glazbrook
    February 19, 2014 1:41 am

Thnx Luke, been waiting following for months in anticipation and i’am thoroughly enjoying it.. Congratulation’s on all your well deserved success :)

    February 19, 2014 2:15 am

Banished is BEST selling game on Steam – GREAT WORK! I could only play few hours but the game is almost perfect!

    February 19, 2014 2:35 am

I’ve been patiently waiting, scheduled the day off of work when the release date was given and was not disappointed. OMG SO GOOD. Thanks for a seriously kickbutt game.

    February 19, 2014 2:48 am

Just bought the game, thank you, been anticipating for a while.

    February 19, 2014 2:50 am

I got this game few hours after release. I played it about 5 hours and i love it. Nice graphic, great playability and game at least on par, if not much better, with other great city building games. But this one achiev the same with much much smaller size, better price and it was done only by one person. Great work.

    February 19, 2014 3:06 am

Well done Luke! :) Congratulations with the release.

Greetings from Denmark! :) (Love the game)

    February 19, 2014 3:22 am

    February 19, 2014 3:29 am

I’m very excited! Just bought it! I hope its been a success!

    Are you rich yet? hehe

    February 19, 2014 3:30 am

    Another greeting from Denmark!

Thanks for a stunning game – I have been biting my time, since I saw the game in the “coming soon” on Steam 4-5 months ago.
Never been anticipating a release so much, since the first Tropico game!!

Worth every penny – could easily had been 20$ more expensive and still giving you far more value for money than releases from the big studios.

I am really amazed that you singlehandedly made this game – you are out of this world Luke!!

    Erhan GULLU
    February 19, 2014 3:47 am

Thank you very much for great game. I’m at work now and I can’t wait to get home to play Banished. I has been really long time since I feel like this ๐Ÿ˜€

    February 19, 2014 3:56 am

Loving the game – thanks :)

    February 19, 2014 5:12 am

I really love the Game and I allready played it about 5 hours.

    But I found a bug.
    Mapcode: 183709882

Everything was fine and I had about 250 citizens, when i decided to expand to the left top corner of the map. I build up some stonehouses, cropfields, a storebarn and after everything was finished I decided to build a foresters log and a woodcutter for this new subvillage so that my citizens don’t need to walk so far to get some fuel.
I wanted to build these 2 buildings and about 2 more stonehouses for the workers of it on the other side of the river. So i build up a bridge and when this bridge was finished everything went wrong. ALL my citizens startet to run in the top right corner of the map and died from starvation on their way. Every citizen was dead within about 8 to 10 minutes. No matter which job they had before they all walked in the top right corner of the map.

Fortunatly I had a savegame in which I didn’t build the bridge allready. I loaded it and build the things exactly the same way I did before because I wanted to find out if the bridge really is the indicator of this “event”. It turned out that it is.
I didn’t have any building in the top right corner or nearby so there is normally absolutly no reason for my citizens to go there.

Hope I could help you and thanks for this amazing game. I really really love it and told you about the bug just to let you know.

ps: sorry for my english. I’m from Germany.

    February 19, 2014 5:30 am

    Purchased, thanks for great game!
I miss two features though, right click and drag to move camera, and click&drag to rotate buildings.

    February 19, 2014 5:34 am

Bought! From italy and during work! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    February 19, 2014 5:42 am

Man, I bought it yesterday around 8PM and still playing (didn’t sleep at all). This never happened to me before… Congratulations on your fantastic work!!!

    February 19, 2014 5:59 am

Bought from GOG as promised. Congrats on the release!

    February 19, 2014 6:11 am

are you planning to do a french version ?

    February 19, 2014 6:22 am

This! Exactly the two features I miss the most! I like to play these kind of games with the mouse only leaning back in my office chair =) Can’t reach the keyboard ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Lord Of Mantas
    February 19, 2014 7:31 am

I bought it on Steam, with the determination that I would pick the first map I got on Hard and grow it into a thriving town. Unfortunately, I kind of ruined it for myself by messing up and then I spent most of yesterday afternoon trying to find a good map. I’m not very good at it yet, but I’m having a blast and I think I finally got a good base going. :)

    February 19, 2014 7:31 am

Hey awesome I love this game. I found a small problem with the people (Npc) they walk right thru the farm pastures, and is there a way to delete or remove a building that are not yet completed?

    February 19, 2014 7:39 am

    Hey !

Amazing work on this game. It’s really awesome !
I downloaded an illegal version, the very second i’m payed at the end of the month i’ll get my offical steam copy.

    Can’t wait for modding !

    February 19, 2014 8:05 am

Thank you for this stunning game! you’ve put so much effort in this and it’s really flourished. I’ve been waiting for a game like this for a very long time. I’m going to use wineskin to port to mac.

    February 19, 2014 8:08 am

Huzzah for humble store! ๐Ÿ˜€ Purchased with bitcoins.

    February 19, 2014 8:17 am

First of all, great game…. However…. The lack of micromanagement on certain professions is maddening….
Playing on Hard there aren’t many options for maintaining your food supply until you can start to trade but the damn hunters wont hunt! They will seriously starve to death before they hunt the herd of deer standing no more than 3 tiles away from the hunting lodge…. WTF!

    February 19, 2014 8:18 am

    Amazing job !

As a developper, I’m pleased to see such a clean and wonderful game ! The GUI is efficient and not to hairy, as it should be in every game of this kind. We almost forgot how good it feels when there is almost no bug at the release of a game. I think yesterday you’ve burried some so-called “modern City builders”.

    Congratulations for this success !
And thanks for the good time we’re going to spend on Banished watching our people die in querry accidents.

That being said, i’m going back to find the way agriculture is working beneath the surface !

    February 19, 2014 8:31 am

I know Im just adding another to the pile of compliments but I felt compelled to just say

For a single indie to release what you just did with the level of polish that it has is pure inspiration. I picked up my copy and Im loving it.
As someone who devs games for fun, this is seriously a colossal task and you monstered it.

    February 19, 2014 8:46 am

Such an amazing game. Spent hours playing it already and not going to end soon ๐Ÿ˜› Just having trouble balancing food? They won’t stop eating!

    February 19, 2014 8:51 am

    February 19, 2014 9:00 am

Gonna pick this up on steam next week. Just have a few gaming loose ends to tie up. Looks awesome

    February 19, 2014 9:06 am

The game is awesome! Incredible job building this on your own. My only complaint is that right now I’m stuck at work when I’d rather be at home playing Banished. It sucks me in and melts the hours away just like Civ5.

    February 19, 2014 9:18 am

    February 19, 2014 9:23 am

Hi guys! Remember the giveaway? Well, one of the participants bought the game with his own money, so i have a FREE STEAM KEY! Giveaway ends tomorrow! Email adress required. My email:[email protected]

    February 19, 2014 9:25 am

Woke up this morning with an hour before class, so I spent about 50 minutes working on my town. I’m addicted already

    February 19, 2014 9:41 am

Started it up at 11 PM last night with the intent to “just poke around” – ended up playing until 2:30 in the morning. Great little game, quiet and thoughtful.

Love that you included a Celsius option – great for us Canucks!

    February 19, 2014 10:04 am

Quite an achievement – figured I’d play for a few hours, then watch The Walking Dead episode I had missed. Never got around to The Walking Dead because I was in a Banished trance.

Worth every penny and then some.

    February 19, 2014 10:38 am

    Luke what have you done?
I’ve spend 6 hours off playing yesterday! x’D
I stopped when I suddenly realised it was 1 am in the morning.
This game keeps you busy maintaining the smallest things, absolutely great!!

I’m also flattered by how large the maps are. Amazing!
Thanks for making this game, it’s so good developed. Really awesome! And the price is very low for what you get. ^^

    Enjoy your spare time!

    February 19, 2014 11:38 am

This it quite possibly the most difficult game I have ever played. I love it!! You did an amazing job!!

    February 19, 2014 11:41 am

What about and Steam key? :(

    February 19, 2014 11:53 am

I got problem with this game, after 5h of playing on hard all my people died from starvation… ๐Ÿ˜›

    February 19, 2014 12:40 pm

A full day on ( almost) and still no problems.

This game is a nice challenge,i have actualy 180 banished people runing around to fin fuel huhuh… BUT I AM The Master! If they are not happy they just have to diiiiie! :p

    February 19, 2014 12:52 pm

Ho! and my pc Is 7 years Old (except graphique card GT550ti (4 years).
    Absolutly no probleme Under my Win8 x64 dx11 config…
About gameplay, some things are anoying: theyr is no possibility to split or move stuff from a stock to another barns or thing for raw.
Maybe its possible to have select what we will stock in a barns and what we dont want in it (TOWN game use this system) Its realy easyer to managed the production.
Anyway! I have to build a Brand new Cemetary for my unhappy guys! WHO IS THE BOSS! huhuhu )))

    February 19, 2014 1:09 pm

Playing it! GREAT game. More than I expected!

Only stopped playing to post this…back to Banished!

    February 19, 2014 3:31 pm

I had an awesome hour today playing Banished, thanks for a fun and well done game :) Working perfectly for me. Need to get more into it when i got more free time ๐Ÿ˜›

    February 19, 2014 5:49 pm

I’ve had the most fun from a simulation game in years with this game! It’s everything that I hoped it would be.

    February 19, 2014 9:02 pm

Hey just wanted to check in after having played several hours of Banished. You delivered.
Everything that I read here and saw in the videos is what is there. The nice atmosphere, the slick ui, the conquest to build a new town for my banished villagers etc. etc. Great job, not one bit disappointed and bravo to the hard work and many hours you put in!

    February 21, 2014 6:43 am

Bought Banished on 19th on STEAM. So far it’s been a very fun game and I’m very pleased. It’s also priced well that I did not hesitate to buy as soon as I saw it advertised on STEAM.

Best of luck to your success. Great Job!

    February 21, 2014 12:18 pm

Woao! After (too) many hours on Banished, oops sorry… BANISHED,after Epidemia, Infestation, Fires and a lot of other catastrophs: I have rised my village to 420 in Hard mode. By the way, i have discovered many subtleties. Gameplay is realy good, disturbing but very, very good.

    another /congrats for BANISHED.

    February 21, 2014 5:56 pm

Congratulation for your game, and thank you for a real great game.
I really like the way it is for now and it reminds me some old games i played.
I don’t have any problem actually,it’s running well on my computer.

Again, thank you from a french player.

    February 22, 2014 8:30 am

Bought the game. First I was a bit afraid It could be to similar like the anno series. But it is much better and more passionning. Excellent game for one single developer!

    February 22, 2014 5:24 pm

I don’t know if this is a hoax but I’ve been trying to help stop counterfeit Games you Might wanna check this out.

    February 24, 2014 10:07 am

    Wooo hooo! Very happy mate!!!

    February 24, 2014 1:32 pm

love the pace of the game, everything grows at its time.
love the difficulty, no money, only resources to manage. Amazing amount of seeds and animals to produce.
Hope you release a extension with some more buildings to the city itself to give a bit of beauty as parks, small recreation buildings
    great game

    February 24, 2014 5:54 pm

Well, finaly i Hate you Luke!
Why you dont work with SIMCITY team ?! When i think about all the EA Circus and when i look at the mess they did with all the other SC (after SC4)…
When i play BANISHED, free of major bugg, clean, well thinking and so.. I say: Luke! Give me back the cash i have spent for all those shitty Games! ( :p )

    February 25, 2014 2:37 pm

I’m impressed by the detail that an apple trees takes 3 years to fructify ๏ผ

    February 25, 2014 4:28 pm

I purchased the game on steam – how would I go about getting the .msi file so I can install in wine on linux?

    February 26, 2014 2:19 am

Love the game, playing it hours on end. Keep up the great work.

    February 27, 2014 8:56 am

Wow! What an awesome game. Good job!!

    March 4, 2014 8:13 am

I purchased the game, however I have not received a link to download. Can anyone help me actually download the game?

    March 16, 2014 7:34 am

It’s a shame that it’s Windows only. I would have bought it if it were available for Linux.
